Is a twin turbo setup possible???
Hi guys, i was hoping to get your imput as i have been contemplating the feasability of a twin turbo setup which i would be doing on my 1998 4G63 GST. From what i have researched on my own, there really hasn't been one made yet. I had thought about putting a supercharger on it instead of another turbo but i do not know that i can spare the room under the hood. At this point i have all the bolt-onsand am still running the stock T25 turbo. So, naturally i want to upgrade.I justified to myself that if i'm going to get a bigger turbo, why get rid of the one ihave when i could potentially use it in conjunction with the larger for a totally custom, and as far as i know, never-been-done-before twin turbo setup. But the more i thought about it and read about how the rx-7 and supras do it (sequentially) the more i realized the complexity of their plumbing and valve design. So i looked to the 300ZX and learned that their setup is parallel, meaning that both turbos (of the same size) are running at the same time rather than the smaller powering the larger. So i am at an impass. Is it worth it? Has anyone done it before? I could just imagine the look on people's faces when i say i have a GSTT. Thanks. ~Paul
Fora 4 cyclinder to run a TT , it needs alot of setting up, considering the fact your spooling twice as much turbo kinda makes me veer away from something like that, twin turbos are good for bigger displacment engines, it would be a waste of money in the end to Twin turbo a 2.0 liter, how ever there are a few cars come factory with a four cyclinder Twin turbo, for example the Mustang SVO or the Subaru Legacy B4, peace
i would have to say it's not worth it, but it would always be awesome to have the first twin turbo eclipse out there. that would be sick, do it.
number one it is just totally stupid to TT a 4cyl...

the motor isnt evenbuild for that much boost...think about it...i doubt u kno really what kind of work and how much work will be going into a TT 4 cyl....the reason y noone has done it is because its a stupid idea...the to amound of money u would be spending on a TT setup for ur motor u could have built a single turbo 4G63 that could run in the 9's....custom ehaust mani's are not cheep...plus u would not get enouf compression from 2 cylinders to spool even a T25...u can try and do it but i kno that ur not gunna be able to

think about it, if it were a good idea then Polk preformance, Magnus motorsports, or shep would be running TT setups on there 4g63's
