problem with speaker size..

Default problem with speaker size..

i have a 92 eclipse GS, and i recently bought new 6x9's but the magnets are bigger than stock and they wont fit... how can i make them fit?

Make sure that the stock speakers are in fact 6x9's because I believe that they are also 6x8 size speakers or something close to that that nearly looks the same size but isn't. I have a 98 eclipse and mine are 6x9's. I put in some cheap Sony speakers and they fit. I recommend that you go to your local Best Buy or Circuit City and ask someone there what size you need.

ok im pretty sure they are just slightly smaller than a 6x9, but i already have the 6x9's... isnt there anyway to make them fit?? i mean they go in the hole pretty well, but the magnet in the back is just a bit too big and they stick out too far...

I actually had the same problem with the magnet being to big for the front side door speakers. I had a set of alpine speakers that my friend was getting rid of from his BMW and I attempted to fit them, but the magnet was slightly too big. Unless you want to cut out the peace that is blocking the magnet from going through, I don't think it will work. I would ask Best Buy. What kind of 6X9's are they?
