Stock Boost
Recently i got a G-Reddy Profec II Spec B electronic boost controller...In order for it to work properly i need to know wat the turbos runs stock for boost...( '97 spyder gst ) and hopefully wat theyre capable of keeping up with.
Yeah, i believe the 2g's run 13psi stock, maybe 14psi on the 95-96. However, be aware that just cranking up the boost to like 18-19psi may not do you a lot of good. Once the T-to small-25 reach's about 17psi, it's at its max efficiency and heats the air much more rapidly...eventually causing a loss in power. Running about 17psi with stock everything else may net you a high 13 seconds and about 250-260hp(crank). Next upgrade should either be a turbo upgrade(16g or even T28) or SMIC upgrade(MkIV Supra SMIC works great for not a lot of cash and sleeper look).
also keep in mind if your running more boost you need better exahust air flow, the stock exahust can handle a lot of boost, but is very restrictive, i would also port and polish the TB, get a new fuel rail and injectors and fuel pump, cause the more boost you run the more fuel you use, minor things like that will help greatly in the efficiency of the turbo and how much boost you can run...... another idea - keeping the heat levels down is important like spyder said, powder coating, from what i hear, is a great way to keep heat levels down and again helps create more hp........
