Pulling the valve cover 46g3
Ok so right now im trying to pull the valve cover on my gst so i can paint it.
anyway i took all of the bolts off of the top cover and it's still really tight
and before i start to try and yank it off are there any other bolts anywhere else or anything i should know/do?

RE: Pulling the valve cover 46g3
yeah i did all of that, i just decided to leave it on for now though because i cant get a new gasket this weekend...
what sucks though is when i tightening back up i cracked it
so the only thing i think i can do is epoxy it until i can get a replacement

Remember that JB weld takes 24hrs to fully cure. RTV would have done just fine.
One trick to the valve cover is to never torque it down (with a torque wrench that is). It's so easy to crack it with one...I've done it enough to hate my torque wrench, lol. I've gone to using a 3/8" rachet until it's "tight" and watch for leaks, then tighten it down a bit more if it is leaking. In the end, I would rather do that than crack it after taking the time to paint it.
If your valve cover is still stuck, GENTLY tap it with a rubber mallet or put a piece of wood on the sides and GENTLY tap it with a hammer. As long as all the bolts are removed, the gasket/RTV seal should break free after that. I stress gentle...

Looking at the pic, there are 8 bolts on the outside and 6 on the inside. Make sure all 14 are removed.
