Stock compression ratio is 8.5:1

As far as the synchro, I think you may need to have the thing rebuilt... Ill do some more looking but I dont think you can just buy them and throw em in..

It depends on what synchro you need. Yes you can buy them, but they can be rebuilt as well. My 3/4 synchro is messed up a.k.a 3 is messed up but not 4 which is like an anomely to a lot of us. I wish I had AWD

Advocate dude... i love you brotha but that post was really not helpful lol

Torebuild the tranny is very dependant on the place you take it to. It can be as little as $1k or $2k.

The compression figures vary a lot. Mitsubishi says that anything below 145psi and it needs to be rebuilt. 160ish is about normal

It might just be that the clutch is bad and its not disengaging correctly.

If you do end up doing the cash in hand thing just make sure you can get it back if you decide not to get the car.

obviously it needs to be rebuilt. To me its cheaper just to buy a used or new tranny. and drop that in, rather than pay a shop to rebuild this one. Thats just my take on it
