Default Quieting my fuel pump

Ok, so I have that walbro 255 pump. Makes mad noise. I just ripped my carpet out and I am about to reinstall it. I was wondering if I should try to dampen the sound of the pump by adding something underneath the rear seats and the rear of the carpet. What would help?

Thx

It may muffle it some, but not to the extent of eliminating the whine all together.
You would hate my buddies 1G. His exhaust is a 3 incher with no restrictions down the line, with a 255hp, no back seat, no carpet. It's literally stripped in the back. It's a daily driven weekend warrior, so there's no comforting silence.

Yea silver, I dont mind Muffler noise or motor noise that rumbles but that damn whining sound of the pump drives me nuts. Lol. I have a 3in turbo back with a sound I like, but the pump just kills me.

You could always find someone with a 255lp and swap with them. I'm glad I didn't the 255hp because that whine would drive me nuts too, lol. Especially since I have my son in the car 95% of the time and hardly turn up my stereo. Try the sound deadner stuff, worse case is that it will only quiet it down just a tad.

You could always swap out the walbro and get an evo 8/9 pump for cheap and they're quiet. Not the same output but also not as loud.

Well, I may ask a friend for some sound dampening material and see what that does. I think it should do enough of a job for me to deal with the pump noise. I guess if not, I'll look into those other pumps. Thanks all.
