Ragtop question
Newbie here. I recently purchased a 98 eclipse spyder. It runs AWESOME, but in the last couple storms i noticed water gets in the car and soaks my seats. I'm thinking it's either the top or the weather stripping perhaps. Anyone know how much that would cost to fix? Also, the motor for the top seems to work fine, but it doesn't quite go all the way down. Has anyone had this problem? Any tips? thanks
Yea I just have bought my spyder GS-T about a month ago, but just this past week it has been raining like hell. Anyways unfortuantly for my leather seats, they have been socked by water. I hear though that theses spyders are notoriously known for leaking. I plan on getting new seals from the dealer soon myself. [&:]
Mine leaks a bit near where the seal is split from the front of the top to the a-pillar. It's just enough to run down the door over the speakers, however the water doesn't actually get on the speakers, thank god.
I have a '99 Spyder. While living in California, it only leaked a little in car washes. Before moving to Alabama, I had the gasket replaced for nearly $900. It leaks worse than ever, even after two different dealerships attempting to repair it four times.

I have a '97 spyder gs-t... and yes, they are xtremely notorious for leaking after a few years; mine needed a new bar in the actually top so it wouldnt close correctly (tight enough to stop water from coming in)...and it was 1100$ to fix...i originally thought it was the weatherstripping, and priced it out to about $200...
