Default Really loud squealing noise from under the hood???

for the past month or so my eclipse has had this really damn loud squeal i checked the power steering pump and fluids and even torqed a bit on the bolts it went away for about a day and it's back. i put a new harmonic balance on it because mine broke pulling into the parking deck at the hospital i work at. that stopped the noise for yet another day or 2. what the hell is that noise. all my friends said that eclipse are famous for that custom loud horrible squeal. its about to drive me crazy.

Sounds like your belt.. Does it do it even while your driving or just after you start it up and then go away?

it does it right when i turn it on i'll give it some gas and it goes away after about the 3rd rev. as for it doing it when i'm driving only when i make a turn sometimes it will squeal but mostly when i turn right it does it. i thought it might be the belt also i replace it as well

True... Im sure it will get moved in a bit.. But ya thats your belt.. Did you just tighten it in anyway? You need to mess around with it.. Im not sure if you have it to tight or lose.. I actually have the same thing with my spyder and I havnt gotten around to fixing it yet so I couldnt honestly tell you which way you have it..

Tighten the belt or replace it. They also sell a belt dressing that will help it stick to the pulleys but doenst last forever. If you can reach you can scuff up the pulleys with some real fine sand paper it will help the pulleys grab onto the belts better.
