Hey guys, im new to this forum. I've been looking at a '95 GSX with about 130K miles, 5 Speed manual for 6 grand and was wondering if this, or all eclipses are pretty reliable cars.

Any help or advice would be great.

 

there are things you might want to check when you test drive it because with that many miles it can have alot of problems. Also that price is alittle high. I think you can get it for at least 5500 if not less. I sold mine with the same miles and year for 4800 granted it wasnt in the best of shape. But make sure you check to see if there is any oil around the seals of the t-case. and do a search on crankwalk. There are signs to look for with that like the clutch pedal sticking and oil light going on during idle. Then can be good cars if they are well kept but chances are it wasnt. Owning a DSM you have to expect to fix things, but thats the price for the fun.

I'm starting to know alongside Jeff.
My Eclipse had sat up for about 6mnths before I bought it.
Just to get it to running shape... new plugs, wires, cv axle, alternator, battery, both belts, flush coolant and tranny, clutch job, [sm=violin.gif]intake gastket, pcv hose, and a new cupholder .

And now its having tranny issues.

Its not like the car was mistreated, its just from sitting so lng and barely being driven even when owned (99 with 48k), its just feeling old from not being loved.
And i'm only the 2nd owner.
