Might have a clog somewhere so all of the coolant can't circulate. Maybe in the radiator itself. If it keeps up try flushing the coolant system.

how old is the coolant, check it and make sure you have a 50/50 mix on the coolant if you have put water in it or just stright coolant you probably have a incorrect mix of coolant. if its mixed right, then how old is the thermastat?

The thermostat is about 6 months old, I had a heating problem a few months back and practically replaced everything that has to do with cooling. I noticed that the radiator cap gaskets are starting to peel, can this be the problem.

could be, if your getting air into the cooling system then the coolant wont remain pressurized and will start to boil......

yea i would change the cap, then burp the system to make sure you have all the air out of it.

if that doesn't fix it, then i would do a compression check. there might be a head/gasket problem and it's letting exhaust gases to go into the coolant. I have a pickup that did that.

Yea, def bleed the system, run it with the cap off and sqeeze the hoses and whatnot and add fluid as needed, might just be air.

I agree with 94 mitsu. Check the compression, and also pull off your oil filler cap look at the bottom of it an see if it looks like there is any coolent mixed in your oil. I had the same boiling coolant problem and it turned out to be a blown head gasket. i was a young dsm boost junkie, running 17.5 lbs on stock turbo stock fuel not smart.
