is there a way to take off my rev limiter without buy an exspensive ecu chip or anything like that..? i have 98 gst

 

what for? you need a built motor to handle it (mainly build head) and ya you would need a reflash is avail for that car and or a standalone will do the trick, im sure there may be a piggy back too but your looking at some $$$ either way

a rev limiter is not a restriction it is a fail safe so you dont kill your car in 2 minutes. even cars with built motors and heads have rev limiters depending on displacement the higher it is set usually the lower displacement the higher the rev can be. I see stock EVOs do a 7800 limiter but built 2.0L average around 9k and 2.3L strockers do 8k-8.5k

 

you should be more worried about a speed governor. err do eclipses have speed governors?

Cause i used to have a 1994 Mazda MX-6 and from personal tales, that thing did NOT have a speed governor so yea. Does the eclipse have one?
