RS is the low(er) model, no cruise control, nothing fancy just plane jane.. buy a GS, gotta RS,though it makes meappreciate the little things.. Just take a look through both cars.. and from what I know turbo'ing, a non-turbo eclipse, its tuff.. but makes it faster.. or something, thats just what i think/heard/know, get other openions aswell..

I have a 96 Rs . like grindin gears said, no options at all. But depending the way your doin your eclipse , it maybe better that way . And my car has the 420a motor which is chrysler neon motor but is strong as hell. Engine has alot of potential. Turbocharger goes , 10 lbs is about right for this motor. i just bought mien 4 months ago and still blue printing the car ...</P>

if you want quality buy a factory turbo car GS-t or GSX . both come with the t25 turbo... and produce 210 hp...</P>

i have 2 friends with rs and gs turbo addon kits, and they spent lots of monet building the motor to withstand the turbo kit.. remember the rs and gs have a slightly moded neon motor.. it wasn;t built for turbo.. yeah it might last a while with a turbo, but how long? buy a GS-t or GSX..</P>

i like the GSX just because of the All Wheel Drive....</P>

<FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">I have a 95 GS, and i custum turbo(ed) it. i put a k26 turbocharger in it. huge around the size of a t3/t4. i took it out before i even drove the car, because i found out that the eclipse non turbo cars, DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH COMPRESION to hold a turbo. even a small turbo. sure it might work and it might be fast. but it will blow your engine for sure. you will be racing some day to some slow civic that you should be beating by car lenghts, and you end up losing cause your engine is ceased up and not working. Do not buy a gs or rs buy the turbo model car. and go from there. as soon as i found out about the bad engine in my car i put it up for sale. except during the whole turbo thing, it did cease up my engine just from turning it on for the first time. So know it has a new engine, new clutch and a rebuilt transmission. the gs and rs are bad news. don't get them. gsx is the best but gst is better, but if you get a gst and you put a bigger turbo. you will have horrible wheel spin but there are things you can do about that. but good luck write me if you have any questions. </FONT>

You can build a good 420a turbo motor easy. You just need a good base turbo kit and if you choose stronger rods like eagle or crower and low compresion pistons or turbo piston like JE or Arias. I have a Nice Gs for sale with only 67000 miles on it the engine is tip top shape no modaficatons at all. I have access to a full turbo kit for it front mount intercooler and everything you need to just bolt on. Its very simple. I also can get you a nice set of 19 Racing hart C2s for it for a good price. Email me back and well talk. I can give you all the info you need. And compresion is not to low on a gs or rs its 9 to 1 and thats better for a turbo you want low compresion when running a turbo. A high compresion turbo engine like 11 to 1 or even 12 to 1 will not last long at all unless you have the block sleeved.</P>

with stronger pistons and rods.</P><edited><editID>holeymoley</editID><editDate>37877.9685185185</editDate></edited>

Yea a stock gst is about 210 hp thats turbo 2.0 and a stock gs or rs is about 135hp. You can easly find a turbo kit for 80+to 100hp+ for about 2 to 3000$</P>

Check www.hahnracecraft.comThey make a good turbo kit. I Can get one pretty cheap.</P>
