Runs good except......
I have recently acquired an Mitsubishi Eclipse GST from my younger brother, he will be starting college soon so he has no room to be spending money maintaining two cars.
The engines bottom end was rebuilt less than 2k mi ago, same with the turbo.
Mods include:Light-weight flywheel,Boost controller by SSBC,3" exhaust, Balance shaft delete,short-throw shifter.
Since the rebuild two problems have reared their very ugly head.
One: Very rough acceleration unless the car is allowed to idle for ~5min before driving, warm start/cold start doesn't make a difference, you must let it idle.
You could shut it off after a 2hr drive and restart it and if you don't let it idle for a bit then it accelerates very harshly.
Two: 1600*F+ egt at or near WOT, I believe this may be a fuel delivery issue.
