My friend has a 91 eclipse and he says it runs but dont move... he says it tries to go in gear but when he presses on the gas it dont move... any help??

 

is it an auto or manual? If its auto ask him if it makes a squealling noise when he has it in park. if it does It could be a loose belt in the tranny. if so then have his car towed down to a shop be fore the belt snaps and wreacks the tranny.

 

its an auto... now he;s telling me it moves slowly and second and 3rd dont work...
