Short Shifter Question
hey was up. Im driving a 98 gst and i was looking for a short shifter. now...i dont kno much about em so i was gonna buy one off of ebay. BUT, i thought i should get some help from you guys who prob know more about short shifters than i do. so do you have ideas for which one i should get? And also...is it worth getting one? does it make a dramatic change? thanks a lot for the info!

any time you decrease the shifter throw, you are going to increase shift effort. if you want it for racing and fast shifting, it wont be worth it because it wont help much at all. its actually easier to shift with a stock shifter. If you want a shifter for a sportier feel, then id reccomend the B &M short shifter, its the only quality piece out there for 2gs.
No matter what you decide, you should get polyurthane shifter mount bushings. Theyre about $10 and will make you shifter feel rock solid, a much bigger improvement than getting a new shifter.

Im driving one right now with a short shifter in it and its fun as hell... But I could go through the gears a lot easier with the stock one... Mayb its because I havnt had the short shifter very long and im not use to it..

Deff go fo the shifter bushings, I highly reccomend them, once I got my short thow they riped to pices.
