Default Shot Clutch...Maybe??

Alright, well last night i was racing a guy stop light to stop light and i had him through second gear then my tranny had a hard time shifting into third (its a first gen and i hear the trannies dont last long anyways) so i let off and as i shifted into four it started slipping, to make a long story short my car will NOT go into gear and the clutch pedal has no pressure so i was wondering how difficult it might be to replace the clutch on this car, like is it hard, easy inbetween? Any info would be appreciated

I have had a problem that sounded just liek this. My guess is to check the master and slave cillanders on your clutch. If you slamed the clutch most likely broke the housing on the slave cillander by the clutch pedal. If this dose happen all pressure to the master cillander is lost![:@]

Yeah, pretty much the same thing happened on my Spyder, and it totally wouldn't go into gear unless i revved it up and power shifted. Anyways, check the clutch line also. Of course though you'd be able to see the fliud leaking if the clutch line broke, but sometimes thing's work in weird ways. I changed the clutch in my car myself, and it is a very long and tedious process. If you are tearing apart you're tranny now, MAKE SURE to find anything else you wanna throw in there, like a phantom grip or quaife, and do it one time. Taking apart a transmission is some hard work. Also, If you are gonna change out the clutch, are you gonna consider upgrading the clutch? I have and exedy street performance clutch and it's pretty good, no complaints. Exedy is the OEM manufacturer for dsm clutch's....so might as well upgrade, right? well, good luck.

Exactly i am upgrading ...to what i do not exactly know, but i am hoping that i can hold off on that and maybe let it be the slave housing or something stupid like that... i can hope.

I'd recommend the Exedy, not a lot of people seem to want it though. A lot of DSM'ers just use the ACT 2100 or 2600 or the CFDF. I dunno, in japan a lot of the Evo tuners use Exedy clutch's, so that's why i was turned on to it. But then again, those are like 450whp evo's with full race transmissions. I saw on your little notes at the bottom that you wanted to move from the TD05 to a TD04 from greddy? Which TD04 does greddy offer? I thought they only had the 18G, but i haven't really checked out their turbo kits lately.
