Hey so i let that motor go from that other guy that wanted way to much for it... but heres the new proposal that i've been overed... This guy has a 95 gsx that he started totear apart and build. He built the motor (see list below) got itcompletely repainted (tookout windowsand everything), so on aso forth (also see the list below), wound up buying an evo and set the gsx aside. The motor hasnt even been intalled in the caryet, so it has0 miles on since it was built. It's been sitting in his garage for about 3 years and hewants to just getit out of there. the shocks/springs/wheels/tires only have 700 miles on them...here's the list the guy emailed me

he also said that it needs a tranny, hood(no big deal), turbo, radiator, intercooler/kit... he's been slowly parting this out. He's asking 5k for all of it, what do ya think??

 

Too much. I saw a 95 GSX with forged pistons, forged rods, E3-16g turbo, etc.... injectors blah blah blah. TRE race tranny.... (on ebay) Buy it now was at 4k.... all with 1000 miles on the new parts.

That is what i call a steeeeeeel. I think there is better deals to be had.

 

keep in mind that this is basically a brand new built motor, brand new paint job and parts all around AND that i live in NE OHIO where it is very difficult to find a decent car like this with no rust for this kind of price

 

When you think about it in terms of money invested vs sale price... the price is justified. All im saying is that i have seen better.

Good idea... things always become more clear once you have a chance to visualise everything.

 

5 grand for it? personally that sounds like a HELL of a deal to me!!!! i would try to talk him down mabey 400 or 500 to justify the price you have to pay for the trani and the ork you have to do to install the motor but other than that. i'd buy it!. the setup you described sound like it's 700+whp capable!!!

what you have to figure on is all the other stuff you need now. What else is in the engine bay. Do you need a turbo kit, guages, tuning, ect. Its gonna need a tranny. Just look into all the other cost because even though this car is only 5k you may end up needing to spend another 5k just to make it running.
