Hey this is my first post but I wanted to see what you guys want to say about this. Ok I had a 1996 GS when I wasyounger and didnt know anything about cars. Since then 3 years have passed, and ive been in the shop working on cars every other weekend including my 1999GSX. I was out late one night as I usually do for a little fun driving, night is best because the roads are clear and I only have to worry about cops, animals, road and my car. I came up behind this 2g Eclipse on this two-lane road and got a laugh at his blitz body kit and his GS tag. So me being the **** and wanted to have a good time, I get next to him and sure enough stop light. He revs im having a hardtime keeping my eyes open im laughing so hard. The funny thing is he beats me off the line by maybe .25sec his front tires have trouble getting traction, you see this is the part of the story where I say oh I passed him granny shifting without breaking 4k rpms. But that just wouldnt be true, I hit about 60mph 5-6seconds from the start and its like he shot a 100shot of nitrous he left me in the dust, I havent lose this bad since I raced a supercharged 5.0mustang on spray. I saw him at sonic afew days later (alot of motorers meet up there every friday) I didnt have my car so I walked up and talked to him, he still had the 420a engine in his car! How the hell did he do that without a pop? I didnt ask about nitrous I was to upset so I walked away. I've ran 12.8 in the quarter at the track. Where are these 420a monsters coming from? Jesus how much money would that cost, turboing, I mean a transmission that fits the 420a im think neon r/t is as good as it gets before it starts getting expensive.

 

Wow that sucks man. And yes he had to have dumped alot of money into that car to
make it that fast. Those engines are just not made for power.

 

i'm almost positive that he was b/s'n ya... prolly has a built gst or somethin and put a gs badge on the back and is tellin everyone it has a 420a in it to throw them off... prolly makes a lot of money on bets lol.... i've actually thought about doin the same thing with my gsx lol

 

Thats what darknigh has done to his gsx. Well actually the sticker is just partially torn off so it just reads gs.

 

Yea if I see him tomorrow at sonic Ill ask him to pop the hood, I gotta see what all hes done under there. Hey I just got a great idea, ima ask to take a picture of his car, Ill make sure to get the vin, Ill run it and find out. Granted engine swap and other things still come into play.

u shouldnt really need to run the vin to see what he's runnin, just try to get a pic of the car and the motor... you obviously know that they're a huge difference between a 420a and a 4g63 motor...

That sucks. Could you hear a BOV? or could you hear the spray? I seriously doubt that it is a 420a but if you have enough money you can make just about anything fast.

 

yea I mean if I cant get him to pop the hood or if I just see his car or w.e, kind of a last resort.

 

I had music going pretty loud, I couldnt hear much. I trusted my eyes way to much, at a glance I saw all these numbers and possibilities for his car and none of them were close x_X
