the sensor is toward the back of the tranny. it's located inbetween the bracket that hold the tranny to the motor/chasis mount. the ign module is ontop of the intake manifold.

ok, after looking, I couldnt find anything on the intake manifold, above or below it. btw, would the VSS cause the car to not start?

hard to say about the VSS. a lot of things go into making a car not start, and that's what a lot of people don't understand

I understand a car requires a lot of complicated things these days to make it work, and that if one thing in one of those systems doesnt work, it'll cause it to not run possibly.

there is no "ignition module" to speak of. All you have for ignition control is a cam and crank sensor, and a coil pack. Everthing else is done via the PCM.

the coil pack is plopped right on top of the valve cover.

and although a failed vehicle speed sensor usually wouldnt cause a no start situation, there IS a problem with one on that particular driveline. it has the potential to short the voltage feed for the cam/crank sensor to ground, thus preventing the car from running.

Would it potentially damage the crank/cam sensors? I put a new cam sensor in, have the old one still, havent tried crank yet, but the VSS is only $40 so I'm gonna try it.
