Steering/Alt/Ac belts
Hey guys,
I replaced the 3 three belts recently because they were worn.Since I've replaced them, everytime I start the car, or any time there is a power drain (like with my system all the way up), or even when the a/c is on, it squeals like they're slipping....Now I tightened them to the right lbs and that didn't help. I also had a mechanic check it out and he tightened them too. It still does, and its pretty embarassing when people look at it and are like nice ca...what the?.... When it does squeal, there definetly a noticeable "dimmness" to the interior lights, and power loss....The alternator is less than 6mths old so I doubt its that. The only thing I or the mechanic came up with is that it needs shaped belts... I got plain old square ones, but should I have used the rounded edged ones?
Hopefully someone can shed some light on the situation...
Thx
