Question stock engine rebuild in NJ?

Hi, I recently took my car (99 GST, auto trans) in to STS tire and auto center for low oil pressure. They said that the engine has many leaks and is burning oil; they said that I need a rebuild.
I'm in a fix though, because neither am I very knowledgeable about DSM's nor do I know anyone else who is. I called up local shops famous for rebuilding engines (bridgewater motorworks and more) and all said they can't do it...I asked why...they were like nope, can't do that motor....take it to a performance shop.
I called up Jasper Engines and transmissions, they no longer re-manufacture this engine either...
I asked local junkyards for used engines and couldn't find one that would fit my car.
So if anyone knows a place that I can take my car to (NJ/NY/PA) or if you guys can suggest something else, I'd be grateful.

Some info about the car:-
mileage 166000
new factory turbo at 149000 miles
rebuilt head at 145000 miles
Apexi N1 turboback exhaust and Injen air filter
Stock Boost
Stock Engine
Minor suspension and brake mods.

before you truely trust these idiots that said you need a rebuild i would verify for yourself. Do a compression test first. this will check the internals
http://jsalmi.com/dsm/tech/compression/

from there if you get bad #'s its been verified. But if not then burning oil could be a # of simple solutions that you may be able to fix yourself. Like a valve cover gasket. just something to think about first.

But if you do a search for "dsm shops nj" in google youll get a few shops in that area. NJ has a couple of BIG dsm/evo shops there

Thanks for the reply! I would do the test, but like I said, I don't have the knowledge or the tools for it. I did google dsm shops in NJ and most of the places have closed down. I'm considering taking it to Ram performance on a friends recommendation.
