stupid exhaust question...
I'm stuck with doin the gaskets on either side of my cat converter, the bolts all around are not only siezed bit they actually seem welded tight. One big lump of rust each. I can't find my repair manual to consult so sadly I must ask... what size bolts should I be looking to replace them with? I don't wanna pull the exhaust and have it sit for a while til I find the matchin bolts, I wanna have everything together before I start. If anyone knows off the top of their head I appreciate it.
Okay so after gettin under it I dound that the exhaust got welded together in a couple places so Im gonna redo everything fron the headers back. Im kinda curious tho, if I went with an exhaust system that had no cat converter but a resonator in its place, would it be loud as hell? I know I can expect it to be a little louder than stock but I dont wanna get pulled over like my exhaust is splitting. Any thoughts this time around would be nice, thx.
well it depends of your in an area that requires a cat for emmission laws. But as far as sound i would say as long as you have a good muffler and i would even go with a resonator on the cat back piping as well just to help out, i think you would be fine
Okay cuz yea they do require a cat but I can have mine "pass" for $50 I just dont wanna get pulled over for sound. It does have a resonator in place of the cat converter. Ive heard its supposed to get like 10-12 horses is that true or no?
