What about if I toned it down a bit. Like maybe 350hp to 400max? Not a full out drag car. Then should I just keep my evo 3 and just tune better maybe up the boost abit or could i still manage to handle the t4 on a small basic build?

With slicks at the track you should be able to hook up. But driving around town and trying to get traction flooring it on street tires your gonna have issues. With a FWD car suspension really doesnt increase traction like it does with a rwd car. With all the stuff you are saying you have though it would seem like a waste to only look for 350hp because you could have accomplished that with the stock motor. Im just trying to figure out exactly what you want. If you want a 400+ hp car then expect it to be at the point where its almost worthless on the street. You can drive itbut racing, ect. is useless. The track however you will be able to still pull some good times on slicks.

TheEngineer what I want is track car this wont be a daily driver. WhatI was saying is i do not want it not to be street leagal incase i wanted to go for a cruise or sumthing maybe once a week or sumthing. The main idea is for the car to be FUN to drive. As for you explaining the fwd v.s. rwd thank you that question was actually coming to me but you beat me to it. I can convert my car to awd but that will kill my budget so would it be worth it. Like say still being able to run 12's atleast?

12's is easily obtainable with 300-350.

With that 500hp you were going to be looking at low 11's

Not if you can launch or get traction

50 trim is a great turbo and they usually get full spool by about 4500 and it should be capable of 500whp but that is really pushing it to the max. But it should be fine. Just make sure you get an externally gated turbo. The 50 trim definetly is one of the best pump gas turbos
John your way off. my 50trim hit full at 4000 and you wont get 500 out of the To4B version I think that is the smaller 50trim that is also internally gated

well he was saying hes gonna be on slicks or at the very least drag radials. And also thats why i was saying to make sure he gets an externally gated version. Cuz i wouldnt reccommend the bullseye one. I would look more into either a turbonetics, PTE, or equal

Even with drag radials and slicks traction will not be in his favor. maybe he wont spin untill 4th gear anymore but off the line he prb wont be seeing 1.6 60fts. I doubt it will hit times where you would assume

basically man, if you are building your car for the track than 350whp is prolly the most that you want out of it. yes more hp = faster BUT if you are coming out ofa turn going like 50-60 and you are in high 2nd - mid 3rd than you are going to spin. now if you set out to set up your car for track use only i'd personally go gt2871r, some headwork to rev a lil higher (always good for track use) concervatively tune it to about 350whp and let er eat. you will get traction in high 3rd and w/ drag radials MABEY mid 3rd gear with a nice suspension setup.
If you think about it... how many 500+whp FWD cars do you see at the track??
