What about converting to awd? I Have access to all the parts it would cost somewere around 3k$. Does that sound to high? If so what should the pricing be? If I converted it I would have less money for the hp build but I could still mange. Is this my best bet? or should I just get a jdm 6bolt with awd tranny and convert it sell my tranny and engine then build the new 6 bolt?

if you want FWD stick w/ the GST. if you want AWD, converting is a waste of time and money. just sell the GS-T and buy a GSX. it's soooooo much easier that way!!

you can still have a fwd car at the track... you just don't want something that's 500whp... unless you can takeevery turn at 110 while ur in 4th gear where you wouldn't have to worry about spinning... than it's basically pointless. ur tires would be toast after the first lap.

I dont want a fwd if I cant have over 450hp. Ive seen civic hatchs running on the streets with green series trubos with over 500hp as daily drivers. As for the awd conversion its 3k thats like half of buying a decent 2g awd. Plus a shop will do it for me. Revhard Inc. if you search the web you can find them with there built talons.

don't get me wrong 450-500hp would be MONSTEROUS on a lil car like an 2g. BUT for track use it's just not practical. all anybody would have to do if they were looking for you on the track was look for the smoke signal from your tires. if you are building for the track and you are sticking w/ fwd than IN MY OPINION you don't want anymore than 300-350whp... that's a quick spooling turbo, good power to pull you along, and also won't spin tooo terribly bad although it will be hit or miss in 2nd gear w/ street radials. i'd say 70-80% of the time ur gonna spin 2nd no matter where you are. but IF/when you do hook up in 2nd gear w/ 350whp... that thing is going to PULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.

For the AWD there are more problems than you think like the rigidity of the body and the suspension and everything like that. I just dont think its even close to being cost effective. If there was no such thing as an AWD stock eclipse id say yea its worth it. But they made the AWD version for a reason. But if you reall want to look into it. Here ya go
http://www.automotivearticles.com/12...nversion.shtml

Like i usually tell everyone, there really isnt much in the DSM world that hasnt been done already. You just gotta know where to look for the info

I actually have that page saved on my favorites I have read it many a time. As for actually going through with it I highly doubt it atleast for now. After talking to a couple more shops one of wich has 2 over 600hp gst's haha Im keepn it fwd. If im on the street most of the time a race comes up if and i actually go for it we are already at a roll so ill be good there. He completely explained to me how yea there will be traction issue's but with slicks and at the track itll help alil. On the street as long as Im not going to hard they all said I would be fine. As for my decision on the turbo you guys were right. Im not getting the t40b its not fitting whatI want exactly. My turbo is and actually ordered a PTE scm6152e 56 trim with external waste gate. If you guys want a complete parts list like whats done with the engine, tranny, what bolt on I have n stuff ill throw it together. As for getting it done I expect it to be completely done by mid summer including interior work ( paint ect). rolll cage, subs, new paint job havent decided on if I want to add some stripes or not, new carbon fiber hood.

sc61 = slower spool time = capable of 630whp... bottom end, minimum of stage 3 head, ems, fuel (simple walbro255 won't push that kind of hp), unless you want everything pas 6000rpm's to drop off you'll need ignition, custom suspension, tuning tuning tuning, trani, 1k+ dollar clutch. ur lookin at about a 10-15k build there buddy. and i'm being generous. hope santa brough you lots of $$$ for xmas.

I stated in the begining thatI have around 15K to play with. I had 20k in the begining but i blew it on other stuff. So yea I can handle it. As for the 600hp i wont be taking it that far though im gunna keep it at like a 500hp max. Of course some day Ill want more and Ill have all the supporting mods for it but untill then Im just going to enjoy it. I also have a dual stage boost controler which i neglected to mention. so on the launch i actually will have a better chance of traction then once I get moving Ill switch to high psi.
