Thermostat Question
Its time to change the thermostat. My mechanic looked them up and found 3 different ones. There temperatures were 160, 170,and 180 I think. Since the car is turbocharged, I assumed that I would want to go with the lowest temperature. Correct or no?

RE: Thermostat Question
absolutly not.
there is only one correct thermostat for your car, and thats the factory thermostat. using a colder one will cause a loss of milage, increase in emissions, and drivability issues as the car doesnt usually get to closed loop until about 170 degrees depending on year, engine, etc.
do not use aftermarket parts for things like the thermostat; the quality is poor.
besides, theres no reason to replace yours unless its actually failing.
