I need to change the thermostat in my 94 Montero SR (3.5liter) and have only done this before on a chevy 350 (easy!). I think I located it where the lower radiator hose enters the block. Is this the correct location? Any tips on draining the coolant first? Any tips at all on this procedure?

 

Usually thermostats are located on the upper rad hose.
