for a maxed out evo 16g 550's are borderline so 650's will most definatly do the trick and you'll be able to make it as rich as you want.

Alex, that setup will work, but tuning with DSMlink cannot be beaten (unless you go to AEM EMS). Its just so easy. You can compensate for whatever injectors you want, its got the stutterbox and NLTS, and ****loads of other cool features that are very user friendly. You can also get the best tune for your car with link. One of the local guys dynoed with his safc2 seutp, then dynoed with link. On the exact same setup he dynoed 20hp more with dsmlink because he could get a more optimum tune.

You sure as hell dont wanna run a turbo engine lean! duh.
11:1 a/f at WOT, no leaner than that. some guys run even more fuel. I prefer to lose a little performance over trashing my engine.
Lean makes power but also causes mega detonation and melts **** when your boosting.

The Problem with the SAFC is when you tune you can only change the MAS readings and it basically tricks the ECU to running rich. the poblem is it pulls timing and your AFR if you where to dyno would prob not be a nice straight even line because your only correcting RPM increments of 200RPMs if that most people dont even do that much its usually like 1000 RPM increments. basially between the un even AFR and pulling timing that would get you at least the 20WHP that was stated earlier as a gian between the SAFC and DSMlink

bingo... basically... GO with the DSMLink, it will keep you from knocking your engine and is much more in depth, a brand new SAFCII is about 250-275 last time i checked, a brand new dsm link program and eprom is about 550 and you can someitmes find them used on ebay or a forum for between 350 and 450... basically a $200 difference for 20whp... that's only $10/hp which is extremely cheap!

RE: Thinking ahead. TUNING!
well not to mention your running alot safer that way also. But if you decided you didnt want to use dsmlink, or you dont have the laptop to do it. Then getting DSMchip, and then fine tuning with the AFC will work fine

RE: Thinking ahead. TUNING!
My GSX i have to keep it 10.6 or so but it burns a little oil, which also adds to detonation,plus its just a pice of ****
My talon with the 20g im able to get it to 11.3 before i get any knock, but i keep it at 11.0 on the nose for safe measure
Read my post about what it takes to kill a 7 bolt if your wondering what lean will do to a turbo motor.. i burnt a hole through the turbine housing on that one

well what stage chip is it, cuz thats important. But assuming its a stage 3 and also it must be programed for your specific mods already. Heres the prices (basically new)
DSMchip = $140
SAFC = $250
Pocket Logger = $200 (depending on what type i guess it could be more)
so total about $590. So that seems like a pretty good deal to me
