Default throttle body cable

I finally got the bolts off my intake manifold and i'm putting everything back on, and when i go to put my throttle body cable on, it is tight, until i turn the throttle body. I get lots of slack, and i can't figure out how to tighten it up. any advice?

Default RE: throttle body cable

?? So you're saying that the cable is loose now, correct? What motor do you have? Regardless, there is a bracket is attached to the cable sleeve which then bolts onto the valve cover. That's where you do that type of adjustments from.

Let me just clear this up real quick. You're saying that with the throttle pulley left alone, the cable is tight, correct? If you turn the pulley, the cable gets loose, correct? If so, that's normal. Why? Because there's two ends to the throttle system, the pulley and the pedal. You are only moving one end and that's why you have slack.
Sounds to me that with everything left alone, your cable is tight, is that correct? Help me out here
