RE: timing belt!!!! help
yeah it should bent the valves. I had that problem with my EClipse GS 95 before I had the engine rebuilt. I was on highway and it dies. I tried cranking it up couple times but didn
t succeed. I got it towed to mechanic and he said the belt was broken and one of the valve bent few degrees and I had the engine rebuilt. It might cost around 500 plus. I had mine rebuilt for free because the mechanic didn't do a good job on changing my timing belt.

RE: timing belt!!!! help
well its going to depend if yo do it yourself or have a shop do it because i have done mine before to save a lot of money but if you dont have much mechanical skills, then id take it to a shop and bite the bullet. your going to need a head gasket and new head bolts because both should be replaced when putting a new head on.

well at least the cost of a head gasket, but if you rebuild it youyrself then when you get the head off the head gasket will be easy to do since its right there but ive never had somebody else do my head gasket so i dont know.

RE: timing belt!!!! help
well guys heres another problem my new mechanic was replacing the timing belt and discovered that the cam sprocket was chipped and that is what cause the timing belt to snap well my old mechanic removed the timing belt to change out the water pump a couple of months ago and the new one said that maybe when he was putting the belt back on he prolly broke the cam trying to ply the belt on because cams dont just chip like that so i ordered a new one and i still dont know if any valves are bent or anything else so ill keep yall posted............
