What's the advantages of runnin a topmount manifold like this one?

I have no idea.. my only guess would be the intercooler piping some how would be easier... im just trying to think of a reason

 

that's what i was thinking... also it could just be a showcase thing, like "hey, check out what i got!" kinda deal

 

IM with Skate on this one... It would seem to me that has to be the case, as putting the turbo up higher would just keep it warmer..

 

granted it doesnt look too bad... but for $900 the guy's askin for?? psssshhhh!

 

Good luck closing your hood. Looks like its sticking the turbo pretty high up there.

 

they fit under the hood, the radiator is the issue.

 

Nah, that turbo sits low enough (below the head) to close the hood.
I couldn't tell you any advantage to a top mount. I can see a disadvantage to it in a 2G though. The upper radiator line would run right into the compressor housing.

jon beat me to it. just for looks, insted of having to do some kind of dance w/ your neck to see what size turbo the person has, it's right there. the radiator hose can be diverted like ViciousGSX did. slim fans will give you the clearance you need. i don't think it's worth 900 at all but i wouldn't hesitate to pay about 500 to show off my gt35r!!!
