Ok so I found a pretty decent deal on a complete 6 bolt setup with tranny and accessories but I was wondering if the 1g tranny will work in my 95 Talon TSI awd since its a 2g.

wasnt there a gear ratio difference in the transfer cases and rear difffrom 1g to 2g?
you would probly be better off with a 2g trans.

 

See thats why I asked becuase I gotta make sure there are gonna be no problems with ratios or anything

 

hmm. I Have the same swap going on. I have a 1995 GSX Body and I bought a whole front clip 1g with the 6-bolt setup and a 1g transmission is already on it. I bought a 2nd gen transmission off of ebay but it's JDM and the guy said something about it being different in the speed sensor or something along those lines. He said that it was a cable system instead of an electronic and that all Japanese Domestics imported to the U.S. has this setup. Should I be worried about getting it or not? I'm having a nice performance shop do the swap because I dont have the time , So would it be able to be done there if there 'was' a setup-issue between the two models?

 

Are they both AWD, before we even start this?

 

yea the engine I have is the 1g 4g63T with an AWD Transmission already bolted up to it. And I ordered a 2nd Generation AWD Transmission for it

 

So my question is do I need to get a 2g tranny

 

from my understanding the 2g trans is stronger, and it actually has mounts on it so you dont break the ears off the block like 1g's constantly do.
