Default Transmissiong Ticking.

I was having some trouble with my tranny ticking the second I touched the clutch pedal. Since I have a 97 GST I get all nervous and think the worst CW. I took it to the Gillman Mitsu. and he assured me it was the Main clutch bering. Not wanting to pay 740 to have it repaird I called around. and a reputable tranny shop said from my description and what I told him the dealer said, that it was not the main clutch bering, but the release bering. A couple of questions I am throwing out here is
1. Is the Main Clutch bering and the Releast Bering the same thing?
2. If I bought a ACT 2600 w/streetdisk and installed would this not correct the problem? or is the bering not accessable but with cracking the tranny open?
3. Will one of these cause me to loose clutch pressure if I don't use the clutch for a while (like on a freeway)?

Thanks

I thought the loss of clutch pedal was when you made left turns? I gave the articles about CW to the dealer and he said the ticking was coming from the tranny not the timing side. Even after all that the dealer still says definatly not to CW.

If it is the bering, if I had a new clutch, and the bering replace shouldn't that fix it, without costing almost 800 bucks.

How hard is it to change a clutch and release bering on a 2g turbo? I have the Haynes book and it does not look that difficult. The most I have done to a car is change the brakes, sparkplugs on a 3000gt, install HID's, just minor stuff like that. Thoughts?

my car is outta comission right now too for probably the same reason. If that IS it, the tranny shop nearby said they would charge me 570 to change it out, but they usually charge 650-700
