Turboing the 420 Part 2
Well i'm finally in my right means with the money and everything and i'm preparing to order my turbo kit and install it.
I was just wondering if theres anything else i need to know before i do this. Does the Hahn stage 1 kit really come with everything i need for now or am i going to need to order some other strange parts from somewhere else. Also after i get the turbo installed i'm going to try and order the Greddy evo2 exhaust for the eclipse GS-T and put it on my boosted RS. Is this going to take a lot of fab work?
well, any help would be appreciated.

I think to get the exhasut to work right you would just need to cut and weld the end on and then make custom hangers and that should do it. For the kit, yes thats all you will need but keep in mind you can only boost 5psi because that is a non-intercooled system. If it were me, an intercooler would be one of the first things to add to the kit.
you don't need custom hangers for the kit. i had to do the same thing b/c HAHN accidentally sent me the GS-T/GSX system instead of the GS system about 5 months ago. all you have to do is hook the system up (all the hangers fit just fine) well the holes for the bolts on the exhaust won't match the holes on the downpipe so all you have to do is cut the exhaust match the holes up and reweld it with the holes lined up.... very simple operation i did it in less than 20 mins on mine.
I would recommend ditching the craptech FMU and the stock downpipe, get a vortec SFMU, and a bigger downpipe, if you get their downpipe you won't even have to change the exhaust, though it is more money. I would also look into getting a couple gauges, wideband A/F gauge, and an EGT gauge at least.
I am going with black on this one, hook up their fuel system but ditch the cartech fmu. The vortech sfmu is much better. If you want to hook up the system and just go i suppose the car tech will do, but I would deff look into getting a sfmu. Also hahn's stage one down pipe is a joke, your suppose to cut your stock one, and clap hahns to it. You would be much better off getting a aftermarket down pipe, or see if you can order hahns 2.5 inch down pipe that comes with their stage 2 kit. Lastly I would look into getting a walbro in tank fuel pump. Hahn sells their kit with an external pump(which works fine) but a friend of mine had his stock intank one die and his external pump had a hard time pulling fuel through it... that and his gas light was constantly on. BTW the gauges would be a good idea also.
Thanks very much for al the input. I'm hoping to get it ordered soon. I gotta fix some rear end damage first though, someone backed into my baby when it was parked in the parking lot at my dorm :/ gotta fix that, then i'll be right on top of the turbo. I think i am gonna go with the supra intercooler and fab it in there somehow. Also, is the BOV an easy switch. I'll prolly leave the one that comes with the kit on for a while, but if i want to change it in the future, will it be simple?
Greddy you need to buy the flange adapter, and either have it welded on (prefered) or just use hose and clamps. The HKS, at least the SSQV will not work, you have to grind the stock flange off and weld on their flange.
