how come the cars that come twin turbo are faster when you put a single large turbo on them...couldnt you put two big turbo's on it and it would be fast or one turbo thats slightly smaller than the other so the lag time wouldnt be as bad??

Keep in mind you need to then spool up 2 turbos, wouldnt that take... twice as long? On a 4cyl at least... I mean, theyd have to be inline wouldnt they? Unless you had the worlds most interesting exhaust manifold...

yeah you do have a point there...so really its the lag that makes twin turbos kind of obsolete to the single large turbo...once you get past the lag and hit full boost that when it becomes a beast...right??

twin turbo is not inline in a 4 cyl. Have you ever seen the manifold on a rx-7. It basically has a turbo on each side of it.

no i know how they work...but im talking about on like an rx or a supra or something like that...at full boost wouldnt it beat out the single turbo...that would but the single turbo being better b/c the lag time is like half that of a twin turbo until the twin turbo get to its potential boost levels...right??

look, the thing it, you arnt gonna put two large turbos in there becuase of space. I have seen it done. But its far more efficient to put one large turbo than it is two smaller turbos. And the max HP is alot greater. Believe me just cuz its two turbos, doesnt make it better
