Default valve adjustment

alright this is how it goes... my moms b/f is a mechanic. he listened to the noises in my engine and said the valves are ticking (meaning they are out of adjustment). i was wondering how hard is it and what all do i need to adjust them? also, would it better to take it to a mechanic? and about how much would they charge for it? just wondering cuz i would like to do it on my own... and does anybody know how to do a valve adjustment on the 98 eclipse gst? thanks

Default RE: valve adjustment

thats very common on dsm's and it doesnt do any damage but cant adjust it tomake it better. If you absolutely cant stand the noise tho you can buy 3g lifters and have them replaced. not worth it in my opinion to pay for but if you can do the work yourself its not a bad idea.
