What car? Model?Transmission? Mods? Miles?

Every shop is different. The actual cost of parts is super cheap... but the labour is whats going to kill you. The price will vary hugely from place to place. So its impossible to give you a quote on that... your best bet is to call around local places and find out

Not sure what you consider "cheap" parts.
Just rebuilt the lower end of our 96 Eclipse 2.0L, non-turbo, 5-spd.
Spun the No. 1 rod bearing.

Rings, bearings, oil pump, 1 rod, head bolts (should replace), timing belt, gasket kit.
Block vatted, cylinders honed, crank turned, mains reconditioned, 1 rod pressed off/on.
NOTHING done to the head.

We pulled, tore down, rebuilt and reinstalled.

$600.00 in parts and labor ($175.00 labor). As I said above, NO head work.

Rebuilding is NOT a cheap thing, but beats replacement cost.

Good luck,

Mike

BTW, we are now starting the rebuild of an 85 Nissan 300ZX, V-6, non-turbo, 5-spd. The funnever ends.
