Default Weight and Horsepower

A new subaru impreza wrx sti has 300 hp and 300 torque and and weighs 3351. According to edmunds the evo beats the sti in the 0-60 and in the quarter mile. now.. the curb weight of a new evo 9 is 3285..and it has 286 HP and 289 torque.. this is a stock 06' evo.. Now lets say mildly modified 2g eclipse gst has 250 Hp and 255 torque, and weights the stock weight of 2921. would the eclipse content with the evo and sti? it doesn't have the hp and torque but it makes up by being ligher..the question is it light enough?

i'm saying like a stock evo and sti verses like your modded eclipse with like a CAI and exhaust and some mild work done.. but what makes the evo faster than the sti? the weight ? can't be the awd because they both have it. is the evos engine more efficent or somethig? what do you think emonz

The EVO IX is faster because it has the MIVEC and a bigger turbo when the earlier year EVOs had smaller turbos and no MIVEC

EVO IX runs 12.9ish (Bigger turbo housing TS20G and boost runs 20.5 also MIVEC head added)
2005 EVO RS run 13.1 (bigger 10.5 turbo hot side TS16G and boost runs 20.5)
2005 VIII MR run 13.3 (bigger 10.5 turbo hot side TS16G and boost runs 20.5)
2005 VIII run 13.4 (bigger 10.5 turbo hot side TS16G and boost runs 20.5)
2004 VIII 13.9 (9.8 turbo hotside TS16G boost only runs 18 then falls to 16)
2003 VIII 13.9 (9.8 turbo hotside TS16G boost only runs 18 then falls to 16)

The STi runs 13.3ish
WRX runs mid 14s

STi has a 2.5L H4 turbo motor so it has more TQ and the AWD is distributed 70% to the rear
EVO has a 2.0L I4 Turbo motor Twis scroll turbo makes up for the lack of low end TQ the STI has and power is distributed 50\50

with a mildly modded eclipse 2g (what i had done...exhuast, intake, IC pipes, MBC@15 psi) it will just about keep up with a stock evo 8 but thats about it.

Ya a stock EVO not driven hard into gears and that was not from a stop... EVO is better from a stop and that was an 03 EVO which is the slowest of them all
