Default weird boost

So i have a 1995 eclipse gs-t... stock... everything... except for a k&n cone, but yea so the other day a buddy of mine and i installed a boost guage on my baby... from what i understand the cars are supposed to run somewhere between 9 and 12 lbs of boost stock... i hit 14 when im all the way on the throttle and fully spooled... it doesnt creep or spike up to 14 it holds solid... is this normal?? is anything wrong??

My buddies was hitting 17 PSI with a boost controller of course. so i dont think 14 is a problem at all. im not sure why it might do that though

If it does it and is steady it doesn't sound like it should be a problem... Now if it fluctuated or something it might be a different story.

I've heard a lot of stories of guys with GS-T's and GSX's installing boost guages and discovering they were hitting about that with no mods to up the boost.

Doesn't surprise me. They always err on the side of safety.
