I wouldn't get a 7 bolt do the 6 bolt swap so that you NEVER have to worry about crankwalk again.

I'm gonna put in about a year's worth of time into it. Is there anyway to build a 7bolt to prevent CW? can a 6bolt crank fit in a 7bolt block?

If not, then I need to be looking for a 6blot.

I want the engine to put down HP in the upper 400 range, so the block will be built up.

 

Just build up a 7 bolt. There is nothing wrong with that. If your starting from sctratch you wont really have to worry about it. There are plenty of successful high hp 7 bolts
