Default What do you guys think?

Right now I have a 95 GS Eclipse with fairly low mileage, I could probably sell it for 4 or 5K. I work for a towing company and my we impounded a 92 eclipse GS and my boss will be selling it in march.
I was thinking I could sell my eclipse and buy this one and put a turbo engine in it because I think hes going to be selling it for 1,000 or 1,500. I found an engine on ardperformance.com
http://www.ardperformance.com/cgi-bi...l?action=index , and it sells for 1500. I wanted to know if it would be hard to put a turbo engine in a 92 gs eclipse? its made for 89-94 eclipses but would it be really expensive to install it in a non turbo eclipse. And I also wanted to know if it is possible, is that even a good engine? thanks.

just an opinion and i dont know much bout that engine swap except i hear like 99% of the time its a royal pain lol. and b4 i did anything just think which style eclipse you really want 1g or 2g cuz i know you would after all the trouble have a quick car but it would kinda take away in that if you prefered the 2g body. and the way you were talkin doin the motor swap sounds like you will basically brake even. so its just an opinion, but i would start by chosin which style you like better then go from there[&:]

The engine will for the most part just drop right in. However, the NA 4g63 can hold up to about 300hp with no modification. There are subtle differences between the turbo 4g63 and the NA 4g63, things like oil squirter, pistons, and cams, so you may want to consider how far you want to go with car before purchasing the perfomance engine. Remember, you'll also have to buy a turbo, manifolds, turbo ecu, fuel components, and a few other parts....parts that don't come with the ADR perfomance engine. Many people have turbocharged the NA 4g63, and they work quite well, so perhaps you won't need to buy the performance engine. You can acheive almost the same amount reliability and performance by keeping the NA engine and balancing/blueprinting it, buying forged pistons, and using 1g bigrods, along with some cams. Most likely, this route would be a bit cheaper and you'd have a little more control of what was being done to the engine(ie port/polish work, bottom end work). Just some things to think about, but it's better you ask now rather than when you're half way through the project! So kudos and have fun.
