RE: what kind of clutch for 98gst?
i have the large greddy fmic, type s,injen intake,3" turbo back n1 w/hi flo on my 98 gst i am hoping with a mbc i would make 250 whp with my setup.if not i am thinking something is wrong,im taking a solid guess that i am in the neighborhood of 215-225 whp as it sits.

you should be able to use any flywheel, event the stock one. Getting a new one is just another upgrade. Just as long as you have the flywheel machined before putting the new clutch in.

Look into the new setup that fidanza has too. I saw th flywheel it's like 8 lbs and instead of having to machine it when you replace the clutch it merely has a plat that comes off and you replace on the flywheel when you replace the clutch. I've heard good things about fidenza. B&M for the shift again they're right don't bother with the underhood bushings unless you hav the extra $ you wanna spend. Slave cylinder isn't really something you'll need to replace and starter... Why replace it the only thing you MIGHT be able to do in replacing THAT is possibly lose a slight bit of weight. It's still going to be rather heavy and as long as it starts the car that's all it's job is right?
As for what a lightened flywheel does... Take a bicycle wheel and put it on a shaft. Take a stock car wheel and put it on a shaft as well. Now spin both at the same time with the same force. Which remains spinning longer? Which takes more to get it to START spinning? THAT'S the difference in a lightened flywheel. It takes less power to spin it and less power to KEEP it spinning (Like the bike wheel).

well i got a ACT 2100 and i currently have greddy turbo back, injen intake, mbc pushing 15 psi, underdrive crank pulley, dejone ic hard pipes, HKS ssqv bov, and msd 8.5 wires. So what im saying is that ive had my ACT for about 6 months and its great. I guess it all depends on what you plan on doing with the car if you plan on going over 300hp then go with the 2600. Also, on my way back from the shop my old slave cylinder went out and left me sitting, so i would say to go ahead and change that while its there.
