when I push clutch in - it won't turn over
My son has a 95 Eclipse GS 5 spd. 2.oL non-turbo.
It will not even try to turn over when we push the clutch in. All gauges come on, so it seems like the switch that is supposed to work when you push the clutch in is not working or something.
My son can eventually get it to start if he jams the clutch in and out a bunch of times, it will sometimes work. Now I can't get it to work at all. I checked the ignition switch fuse and it's OK.
Is there a "neutral safety switch" or something like that?
Where should I start to look first to diagnose this?
Thanks!
Rob

You're a life saver!
This was the problem as the little plug that goes on the end of the clutch arm was broken and laying on the floor This plug hits the button on the switch when the clutch is pushed in. I disconnected the switch and she started right up. This will get us by until we can replace that broken plug..
Thanks a million!
