The other day I was looking in the JCwitney catalog and they have a company where you send them your ECU chip I believe, and they do some kind of modification to it that will boost your horsepower and they overnight it back to you. I think it only adds an extra 5 horspower. Be aware of those imitations that they sell on ebay.

if you want more boost get a mbc, and turn up the boost. dont mess with the computer yet.if you are stock you dont need that right know.first open up the intake, then the exhaust, then when you get into doing the turbo you will need the fuel and some sort of fuel control.

If you're going to do a chip have one made for you after you've built your engine to a good stopping point around where you want it, or you can just get a managment system.

yea, those chips dont really do anything, most are a resistor in a box, and the ones that are soldered onto your computer dont do much till you have some decent hp built up anyway............

They can have a much larger effect on older cars where the computers aren't as responsive and adaptable. Those are the cars that once you have a lot of stuff the computer isn't really keeping up anymore.

With the invent of the OBD2 universal system, "Chipping" is more or less useless. Just think of it like this, if these chips claim to increase hp/tq and MPG by however much percentage, and they're available at such a cheap price, why wouldn't a virtual army of mitsubishi, chrysler, toyota, or even honda engineers have thought about it and implemented into their vehicles in the first place? To date, the only reprogrammable ECU for DSMs is the '95 eeprom equipped ECU. If you have a 95 DSM turbo, you should check to see if you're lucky enough to have it.

2? Where are they located? Also, what year/model car do you have get435? Seems odd, but we'll figure it out.

Don't chip a DSM...Get a SAFC if you want to gain some power through the ECU
