I got one in the center consol behind the sterio and one under my hood that says mitsubishi upgrade and it has a date. I beleve they are both ecu's.

1995 gs "made in early 1994" for maufacture date the dealer said that mattered when buying parts dont know why.

cause they changed some things between spring and fall of 95

ok sping and fall of 95 but mine was made 94 dose this make a differance?

*I labeled First and Second not to sound like a jerk but to distinguish 2 different replies*

First, You have a 420a engine. The chip might be usefull for you for other things than boost since you do not have a turbo.


Second, there is not a magic chip for more boost. The boost is regulated by a BCS that reacts to the MAS and other components. There are free things you can do for 1-2psi more, I suggest a real boost gauge first though, if you do not have one.

i didn't ask about the chip i was talking to spyderGS becuse i have found 2 ecus in my car and one is a factory upgrade.

Sorry bout that. I thought you wanted to know an answer to the thread topic. I didn't know that the factory has used a totally seperate ECU for an upgrade. Usually they just replace the one with a new one.

Never heard of that. The only SRS thing I have seen was for Safety Restraint System. Anyone with airbags should have it.
