Really awesome forum! I'm glad I found it because I could use some advice. My warranty is up so now I can start to mod my 2001 Eclipse Gt. So my question is...where do I start? Intake and exhaust, you got it<IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">. For the intake, Go Injen. They use qaultiy K&amp;N filters and have the nice polished intake pipe. For the exhaust, go with anything you desire that's name brand, they're all pretty good. Do you have an auto or manual transmission?

It's a nauto with the optional sportronic shift. I was about to ask wether that made a difference in the performance parts or not? I'm also looking to get a header. Another question about that....are all the brands of headers compatable with different brands/types of exhausts? </P>

Well, a lot of times if you buy from a good shop, they'll install intakes and exhausts for free. Some shops willwant to charge you but will be willing to negotiate. Most shops in my area don't charge once you buy a product from them though. </P>


The sportronic shifter is nice IMO. Much better than the ones on most other cars. Performance parts will fit on the car no matter what you have. Now, the headers would be a good upgrade also, and all are made to fit the stock exhaust system, unless stated otherwise. It's best to go with one brand when picking an exhaust and header combo, since the R&amp;D was most likely done using both parts together on a testcar. Getting a header and exhaust sytem is gonna set you back quite a bit though, i'd say go with the intake and header for now, then hold off on the exhaust. </P>

Actually I have a "bit of money to throw around" since I was planning on getting a new eclipse but I've decided to hold off until the new body style comes out just to see what it's all about( the concept car is pretty wild. No real opinion as of yet). </P>


Any idea on a brand that makes a header for the 01 eclipse. I've found some exhausts I like but I'm having trouble finding a header just through my research on the web. </P>
