Where to get a stock key?

Default Where to get a stock key?

Have a 1998 mits eclipse rs and I want my stock key back lol, where would I get it. I went to one of the the dealerships and they gave me a generic copy? Dumb, anyone can point me in the right direction?

sometimes you can buy blanks on ebay....or oem part stores online, like mitsubishiparts.com

but trying to find a new OEM blank key for a 10 yr old car is going to be hard. you may have to search for a long time if they are out there.

p/n mb543949 cost $8.42 plus shipping. these keys are harder than the generic version and tend to wear out the cutting wheel quicker.

in case you were wondering why they sold you a generic one. the price is cheaper also.
