Were you running stock boost? Do a wet/drt compression test and post the results.

Ok so i took it to a local mechanic, but i called around and everyone referred me to this guy who knows his was around the 4g63. he checked the oil and found metal shavings, i was there to confirm this, nonetheless, he came to a conclusion that it was my piston pin. thats why it sounded like it was in the head. he also said my best bet would be to sell it, or he said i could get a jap motor with less than 30k miles for somewhere between 2200-2500 or he could rebuild it, machine hone and build it up with eagle and other performance components, and have the crank machined to prevent crank walk. he said that would run me about 3500. what do u guys think, this was my daily driver so im left without a car. what do u think i could get out of the mods and then sell the rest, opinions please lol

Try calling around for a used short block, thats probably the cheapest way to go abt it.
