An easy way to determine and prove the difference is to look at the firewall. If you look at the firewall(very back of engine bay, seperates the passenger compartment from the engine bay), you'll see that there's a little white sticker with various information on it. It'll have random crap like the VIN and production date, but it will also have the engine code on it. Just look for the words "420A", it wouldn't there if it wasn't that engine. The sticker may be on the underside of the hood also, i've seen it on many different models in either of those two places. Also, if you're friend is still adamant about it being a 4g63, just show him that the part numbers of stuff on your car are the same as his. The t-belt(a very critical component and one that is rarely interchangeable between engine types) has the part number on it, but getting to it might be a little hard. But don't let him keep believing he has that engine, if he needs to changethe head gasket or t-belt and gets the wrong part, he could destroy his engine.

Well just hit him really hard. And ask him to point out where the turbo is. Well, ask him first and then hit him.

Naw dude, just go find someone with agst or gsxand tell him to look at the engine. If you can't find a turbo car, then just printout a picfrom the internet and show him. Or race him, you guys should run about eqaul times unless you have a 5 speed. I'm assuming he knows that DSM's are fast(that's probably why he wants to say his engine is a 4g63), so if you run the same time or faster than him....maybe he'll....get it....or maybe not.
