I think on the block somewhere it says 420A...Can anyone verify? Anyways, you can always go to the VFAQs site and it will show the years, models, and engine choices. Man, he really is set on believing he has a 4g63, isn't he?

The chasis was made by DSM, the engine is chrysler. The GS/RS comes with the 420A. If he doesn't believe you, set down with'em, get out your phone book, and call the nearest mitsu dealer and ask to speak with their tech. He'll tell you the same, or at least he should.

Dealer mechanics aren't the greatest. In my younger days, back when i had the talon, i had to deal with them. One day i was driving and hit a damn.....wall. As a result, i totalled the whole front of my car. Since it was a 97 talon, we had to take it to a Dodge dealership to get it fixed under Insurance. Well, the Dodge Dealer"knew" Mitsubishi builds these cars and arranged for their partnership dealer to fix the car. Well, The Mitsu guys got it and didn't know what the h*** to do. It took them a total ofthree days to figure out it wasn't one of their engines!!! THREE DAYS!!! Now you'd think they send it back to the Dodge Dealership to get it fixed.....however dealer mechanics don't think like normal people. So they bought *almost* everything from the dodge dealership to fix my car themselves. The reason i say *almost* is because they didn't get some parts exactly right. They instead got a 4g63 head gasket(I really tore that car up), andsubframe for a 4g63(I mean really really tore that car up). So yet anotherhalf a monthof waiting to get my car back since they needed to get the right parts. By that time, the insurance company started b****ing so we got a rental car for free. Sweet. My dad made me take his Sentra though and he got the rental Diamante. Not that great....but hey, it wasfree! Anyways, Dealer Mechanics.....some are just competent at best.

To be fair though, that wall was like totally in the wrong........it's got no business being up by the curb like that.
