Its retarded **** like that, that gives the DSM community a bad name.
Wait, what is?

Anyway, mother is all uptight about letting me get an eclipse (she thinks it's an "exotic car") and she's worried about issues I might have and replacement parts and their price and the availability. Anyone have anything to say about that? Would they really be much more expensive or hard to find moreso than any other american car?

I was talking about what c557 said.

Seriously, the parts for these cars are more common than camaro/vette parts. Off the top of my head you have, www.dsmparts.com, www.dsm tuners.com (remove space) , www.dsmtrader.com , www.slowboyracing.com , www.amsperformance.com , www.extremepsi.com , www.buschurracing.com ... and probably a few more.

I don't mean so much upgrading parts, more like maintenance and repairs.

The car is super easy to work on...anyone could do it. The Mitsubishi factory parts are roughly the same price as performance ones. Dealer mark ups SUCK.

In the DSM community, breakage is just an excuse to upgrade : )

The parts for these cars are super cheap... trust me.

yea i would def suggest dsmtrader for replacement parts.... you'll find out that parts for these cars are like a dime a dozen... cause everyone is either parting out a car that they dont want anymore, broke beyond recognition, or just plain upgraded parts
